Art ClassesThroughout the course of the year, art students use a variety of media to enhance skills and develop creativity. We approach Art from a different angle each trimester. First Trimester focuses on 2D "Flat" media such as basic drawing and painting, collage, and cartooning. Students also study design and composition, color theory and basic traditional art elements. In Second Trimester, students work in the 3D realm. Sculpture, Ceramics, Textiles and Assemblage techniques are explored. Third Trimester studies graphic design, lettering, photography and architecture, among other concepts. Students will also explore the relationship between art and technology. Throughout the year, in each trimester students will learn animation techniques by creating animated films in Coloma's new CASL Classroom- Coloma Animation Studio Labs. Art History and appreciation will be featured during each trimester as well. All Students create and maintain an artist portfolio of their completed projects. Those who wish to experience all of the units should elect Art for all three terms. Recommended ITEMSOne 3 Ring Binder (any color), with a “clear view” type cover |
