Welcome to Coloma Elementary School

Welcome to Coloma Elementary School! Coloma Elementary is a school where learning is an exciting adventure. The school is comprised of kindergarten through fourth grade. Our school family has three hundred forty-six students and thirty-nine staff members. The staff has thirteen classroom teachers, one full-time Title One teacher who provides Reading Recovery reading techniques to our at-risk first graders, and two part-time Title One teachers. We also have three special education teachers, one speech pathologist, one full-time counselor and full-time physical education, music, and art teachers. In addition to our teaching staff there are two secretaries, nine para-professionals, one custodian, and three cooks who play a vital part in the educational process of our students. The children who attend Coloma Elementary are held to high academic and behavior standards. We expect all of the students to do their best academically and exhibit wise choices in their behavior. We believe the students can reach our standards when there is a solid partnership between the school and the parents. Open communication between the parents and teachers is a necessity in order for every child to reach his/her highest potential. Parents are encouraged to take an active role in their child’s education by volunteering in the classroom, attending field trips, reviewing their child’s completed class work when it arrives home and being a part of our Parent Teacher Organization. Please know that you are more than welcome to visit our school and classrooms whenever you are able.
