What a great day we all had last Saturday!
The rain held off and we ended up having over 100 volunteers help make our campuses better. The Herald-Palladium showed up at the start of the day and put a nice picture and caption into Tuesday's paper. All things considered it was a very successful day of hard work and fun.
There are a few people who need to be addressed for going above and beyond. If you run into them please thank them for their contribution.
The Chartwells team...lunch was delicious and free and it helped keep the troops energized.
The Grounds/Custodial team...who tirelessly worked with us making trash and leaf runs with their trucks and trailers.
Mr. and Mrs. Melrose for the use of their truck and trailer hauling the branches, limbs, and sticks...I can't tell you how much time we saved!
To Board Member LeClear...who, at the spur of the moment, headed the Washington team and went chain saw crazy on the playground trees.
To Karra Hafer...who headed the team at the Middle School. Thank you for your help...it made my day easier knowing that the middle school was in such capable hands.
To Carole Sternaman...for heading the Coloma Elementary team. Carole...you are now to be known as the Green Thumb Bandit. Your knowledge of gardening and flowers is unmatched by anyone in this town. Thank you for your hard work.
To Sara Glisson...for spearheading the work force at CHS. The front of the high school looks much better.
To Rita Moore...for organizing the mini-team who worked at the administration building.
To the CEA for generously donating $50 at the last moment.
To Ken Parrigin and the guys at Quality Paving who donated a truck, tractor, and employee for the entire day. WOW! What a local gem!
If I have forgotten to mention anyone it isn't out of spite and I hope you forgive me. Still, with an enormous smile, I thank all involved and I look forward to making next year's CCC even bigger and better.
GO COMETS!
