Fast ForWord is a computer program that builds a child's cognitive skills. It develops phonetic awareness, sustained focus and attention, listening comprehension, language structure, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. This program accelerates memory, attention, processing and sequencing. Fast ForWord accomplishes this by using activities that use adaptivity, simultaneous development timely motivation, frequency and intensity. There are many levels to the Fast ForWord Program. A child can come to the Fast ForWord lab a second or a third session and still do work that he/she has not done before. Students from 2nd grade through high school are able to utilize this program in a computer lab. As students work their way through the program it stimulates the learning side of their brains. After a student has completed an approximately 11-week session, research shows the program enables them to learn easier through the Fast ForWord experience. There are two Fast ForWord labs! One is located in the Fine Arts Building and other one is at Washington School. The Fine Arts Lab services students from Coloma Elementary, Middle School, Jr. High and High School. The labs are used continuously through out the day. If you would like more information about the Fast ForWord Program, log on to http://www.scientificlearning.com. |
