Please Vote on May 8!!

When and Where do I vote on May 8, 2018?


 On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, the Coloma Community Schools Board of Education will ask voters to approve a 1.25-mill sinking fund request for the renovation and repair of district facilities, along with site and safety/security improvements.  The Building & Site Sinking Fund would be used for specific repairs and improvements in our district. Election day is tomorrow, May 8, 2018!!


 The ballot language is as follows:


Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in Coloma Community Schools, Berrien and Van Buren Counties, Michigan, be increased by and the board of education be authorized to levy not to exceed 1.25 mills ($1.25 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 10 years, 2018 to 2027, inclusive, to create a sinking fund for the purchase of real estate for sites for, and the construction or repair of, school buildings, for school security improvements, for the acquisition or upgrading of technology and all other purposes authorized by law; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2018 is approximately $482,196?

 The election will be held at the places in said cities and townships as indicated below.  Each polling location will be open from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM:


Coloma City pct. 1 Public Library, 151 W. Center St.

Bainbridge Township pct. 1 Township Hall, 7315 Territorial Rd.

Coloma Charter Twp. pct. 1 & 2   Township Hall, 4919 N. Paw Paw Lake Rd.

Hagar Township pct. 1 & 2 Township Hall, 3900 Riverside Rd.

Watervliet Charter Twp. pct. 1 Township Hall, 4959 M-140 Hwy.


 Persons with special needs, as defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act, should contact their city or township clerk.  To comply with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), voting instructions will be available on CD and in Braille. All polling locations are accessible for voters with disabilities.  Absentee Voter ballots are available through your local city of township clerk’s office.
