Welcome to Coloma Community Schools!!  The 2019-20 school year will be my second year as Superintendent of Coloma Community Schools but will be my 18th year in the district!  I was hired in 2001 to be a math teacher in the junior high school. A few years later, I was promoted to Assistant Principal where I stayed until 2010 when I was hired to be the principal of Coloma High School.

I am originally from a small town in Southern Illinois (Ava, IL) and graduated from Trico High School.  I then spent the next 8 years as a member of the United States Army. For the bulk of my military career, I was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, KY and has a member of the famed Screaming Eagles, was deployed during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

When I was discharged, my wife and I moved to Fremont, MI where I attended and graduated from Muskegon Community College and then Ferris State University.  We moved to the Coloma area in 2001 when I was hired and subsequently raised our family. Both of our daughters were fortunate enough to have graduated from Coloma High School (2009 & 2011).  During my time here, I also earned my Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University.

My wife and I enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, being grandparents, and raising Australian Shepherds.

If you ever have any questions about our district, or concerns about something that you or your child has experienced, please feel free to email or call.  Thank you for your support and collaborative efforts in making our schools the best they can be for our kids!!
